FW2-502: Form W-2, Line B EmployerEIN must match data in the eFile database
Please note this reject code comes directly from the IRS. This article is intended to help you fix the field causing the reject code. Please follow the step by step guide to resubmit your return.
What does this IRS reject code mean?
These fields are alpha-numeric only, meaning you can only enter letters A-Z and numbers 0-9 in these fields. Periods, slashes, dashes, and commas will not be accepted. Special characters will also not be accepted in these fields. Please edit the employer name and address accordingly to remove these special characters. This will not affect the filing of your return.

How to fix the IRS FW2-502 reject code in
1) Enter the return, select Income in the Federal Return side bar navigation
2) Select the W-2
3) Select the edit pencil icon under Employer
4) Here you can update the Payer Identification Number (EIN)
Please note:
If the EIN that you have listed on your W-2 matches the one you have entered and it is still getting rejected, please contact the issuer of the W-2 to verify that the EIN is the correct number. If you contact the issuer and they verify that the EIN that is getting rejected is the one they have on record, they will need to call the IRS to let them know about the inconsistency in filing.
