R000-500-01: The Primary Taxpayer's SSN or last name does not match the IRS eFile database.
Please note this reject code comes directly from the IRS. This article is intended to help you fix the field causing the reject code. Please follow the step by step guide to resubmit your return.
What does this IRS reject code mean?
The IRS matches the first 4 letters of your last name against your Social Security number and DOB. If they do not match, the IRS will reject the return. You will need to review the information entered for Name, DOB, and SSN. Please make sure that the first 4 letters of your last name match your Social Security card exactly. If your last name is too long for the field, make sure the first 4 letters match. If the SSN or DOB are entered incorrectly, you can fix this on the Taxpayer Information Page.
