After completing all entries on the Dependent and Household Member Information page you can make indicate special conditions pertaining to the dependent.
This page is needed when a dependent/household member have any of the following:
- Qualifying Student Dependent with no Education Expenses to report.
- Disabled
- Kidnapped
- Form 8332; Claiming child that did not live with you due to divorce or decree.
- Form 2120; Multiple Support Agreement.
- When dependent is "Parent", and they qualify taxpayer to file as Head-of-Household, a "Parent is Dependent" question will populate on this page. You must check the box to treat parent as dependent not shown).
Please answer the following questions and select yes or no, then Save and Continue.
How to get to the Advance Dependent Information
- Enter the return, select My Info
- Select Dependent Info
- Select Edit if you have already entered the Dependents information
- Scroll to the bottom of the Dependent and Household Member Information page until you see the Show Advanced Dependent Information check box. By checking the box you can view the special conditions information for the dependent.
